I am playing WoW since the release of Burning Crusade. I like writing articles regarding Cataclysm. The most time I enjoyed playing was high-end TBC - Sunwell Plateau.

You might have heard about the latest addition to Mists of Pandaria. It is the Black Market Auction House. It's the ideal place for pandaren kidneys!

It functions as a gold sink. Mobs of Warcraft are placing very unique and rare items onto the auction house at random rates and the auction takes up to 24 hrs to finish.

This rare items include, but are not limited to rare pets, unobtainable battle gear, rare mounts, TCG items...

Where is the market located?

It took me some time to find it, but finally it in The Veiled Stair - Tavern in the Mists. It's north from Valley of the Four Winds. On the map are dots, depicting a stairway.

The logic behind it is currently unkown. The random items you can buy appear to be rare drops such as Swift White Hawkstrider (Kael'Thas, Magister's Terrace Heroic), Ashes of Al'ar (Kaelthas Sunstrider, Tempest Keep, Raid), but also Reins of the Blazing Drake from Deathwing, or Riding Turtle obtainable via redemption.

Wrathion is back. The mob, known from the Fangs of the Father quest line has returned. He is the seller of the aforementioned items.

Now, to offer a better view at the exterior of the Tavern...

Will the players be disappointed?

Here are some opinions about the addition from various sources.

"Nice logic there. Don't you think that some things should stay rare and meaningfull, rather than be cheapened by making them easy to obtain?" --- MMOChampion

"So Blizzard yet found a way to ruin WoW more, seriously SET TO DEFAULT and bring classic back and throw out the rest of the expansions. Back in the days things took effort, so only the driven players would be rewarded with special things." --- Facebook

On one hand, this can be true, for many players have been farming mounts such as Ashes of Al'ar for years and now a player will be able to buy them for gold, with tons of gold he can buy from gold farmers...

A closer look at the spotted items:

Sandals of Faith

Sandals of Faith is an item no longer available to players. It is a part of Tier 3 Priest Raid Set (former Naxxramas)

Redemption Spaulders

Redemption Spaulders is an item no longer available to players, part of the Tier 3 Paladin Raid Set.

Sen'jin Fetish

Sen'jin Fetish is a pet, sold by Samamba, Sen'jin Quartermaster in Icecrown, for 40 Champion's Seals

Paper Flying Machine Kit

Paper Flying Machine Kit is an item, obtainable via redemption, trading card game.

Plans: Living Steel Breastplate

Requires 600 blacksmithing, requires 8x Living Steel, 8x Spirit of Harmony and 8x Blood Spirit to complete. No model is available yet, but it's probably going to craft a transmogrification item.

Ashes of Al'ar

Probably no words are needed here - Tempest Keep (Kael'thas Sunstrider Drop)

You must have seen this mount multiple times, if you play the game. Drop chance approx. 1%

Either way, the Black Market Auction House will be enabled in the future build on Beta Realms, so there will be more information and details about it, once it is fully implemented and ready to be tested, not only for a few minutes.
