WoW Guide: Children's Week 2012 Event

I am playing WoW since the release of Burning Crusade. I like writing articles regarding Cataclysm. The most time I enjoyed playing was high-end TBC - Sunwell Plateau.

Children's Week is a time of the year, when players help innocent victims of the ongoing faction war -- orphaned children, who can be temporarily adopted.

This event is live from May 1 at 12:01 AM (servertime) throught May 7 at 11:59 PM.

For the Children

Finishing the achievements in the meta, awards the title Matron (Player_Name), Patron (Player_Name).

It is also, of course, required for the Violet Proto-Drake mount.

These are the achievements, you need to complete to be granted the title & meta.

Let's now have a look at all of them, one by one.

Home Alone Achievement

Pretty simple, all you need to do is abandom your orphan using a hearthstone, leaving him alone, you cruel thing you!

Daily Chores Achievement

You have to complete daily quest while your orphan is out, five consecutive times. Once again do not forget to summon your orphan, because otherwise, it won't count.

Any daily quests can be done, but I advise you to go with the ones, which will be beneficial to you, for example the Molten Front dailies.

School of Hard Knocks Achievement

You need to visit several battlegrounds and complete a few tasks there. Children's Week is the time, when PvP in Battlegrounds gets really bad, because every player wants to complete his/her achievement and becomes selfish. I order to finish their achievement. If you want to complete yours, but can't, try to form a pre-made battleground group, and take turns.

Criteria:

• Capture the flag in Eye of the Storm
• Assault a flag in Arathi Basin
• Assault a tower in Alterac Valley
• Return a fallen flag in Warsong Gulch

Bad Example Achievement

You need to visit several battlegrounds and complete a few tasks there. Children's Week is the time, when PvP in Battlegrounds gets really bad, because every player wants to complete his/her achievement and becomes selfish. I order to finish their achievement. If you want to complete yours, but can't, try to form a pre-made battleground group, and take turns.

While your orphan is watching, you must eat sweets listed below:

• Tigule and Foror's Strawberry Ice Cream (can be bought in 1K Needles, Nagrand, Ironforge, Stormwind City , Orgrimmar )
• Red Velvet Cupcake (can be bought in Dalaran, by Aimee)
• Lovely Cake Slice (is a slice of a Lovely Cake, sold by Aimee)
• Dalaran Doughnut
• Tasty Cupcake (requires 350 cooking, recipe is a world drop, search the AH)
• Delicious Chocolate Cake (requires 1 cooking, recipe is a world drop, will definitely be a moneymaker for a limited duration)
• Dalaran Brownie (Aimee )

Aw, Isn't It Cute? Achievement

Obtain one of the Children's Week reward pets.

Criteria:

• Curious Oracle hatchling
• Curious Wolvar Pup
• Elekk Training Collar
• Sleepy Willy
• Egbert's Egg
• Legs

Legs is the new pet for 2012. It is literally a smaller version of a Fen Strider from Zangarmarsh.

Hail To The King, Baby

While your orphan out, you must defeat King Ymiron, the last boss in Utgarde Pinnacle. I know, it's an old dungeon, boring, in a zone you'd hardly venture in nowadays, but keep it mind that it's easily soloable these days.
