WoW: Explaining the Dungeon Finder Changes in 4.1 By Mimiron My name is Stan, I am 19 years old. Currently I am studying at a University. I am the founder of the FB group which posted Cataclysm news since 8/23/09. I am playing WoW since the release of Burning Crusade. I like writing articles regarding Cataclysm. The most time I enjoyed playing was high-end TBC - Sunwell Plateau. |
One of the awesome changes is the change to daily dungeon bonus rewards. In order to get your Valor Points, you don't have to run the dungeons every day. Instead, there is a fixed cap for how much points you can earn per week.
You can run the dungeons as many times a day as you want, until you reach the weekly cap.
As you can see in this screenshot a maximum of 980 Valor Points can be earned from Dungeons per week. This means you will either do the Random Rise of the Zandalari Heroic, which are the new Zul'Aman & Zul'Gurub instances for a total of 140 Valor points per run until you hit the 980/980 cap, or you can combine it running Random Cataclysm heroic excluding the new ones for 70 Valor Points a run. If you reach the weekly Valor Cap, you will no longer be awared Valor points.
From raids, you can get a total of 1,250 Valor Points per week.
In total you can earn up to 1,250 Valor points per week.
If you are into PvP, you can now exchange your Valor Points, for Conquest Points, which are used to purchase iLVL 365 PvP gear. At a ratio 1:1 it's really a nice feature.
For 250 Valor points, you are awarded 250 Conquest points.
The exchange rate is not equal here, since for 375 Justice Points, you will earn 250 Honour points. In heroic dungeons, you are currently awarded 70 Justice Points per boss and since hitting the 4,000 cap is not a problem these days, you can easily exchange them to get honour points.
I hope this article has shed some light on the new, somewhat confusing features implemented in Patch 4.1 regarding the Dungeon Finder and exchange rates.
